In the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, work has begun for the FACTI Panel. A first meeting of the full Panel was held via video conference on Tuesday, 31 March 2020.
Kicking off proceedings, Co-Chairs Dalia Grybauskaitė and Ibrahim Mayaki noted that there was much work to be done.
“This unusual context will not stop us from continuing the important work before us,” said Mayaki.
The videoconference allowed Panel members, assembled from around the world, to meet for the first time. All Panel members were able to attend and exchanged views on their priorities for the Panel’s work. The Panel also discussed working arrangements going forward.
A full summary of the Panel meeting will be available shortly. It will outline how the Panel plans to cluster its work, and the topics that the Panel members have already prioritized for future in-depth investigation and discussion.
Plans for the Panel’s first in-person meeting will be finalized at a later date. In the meantime, the Panel will shortly announce dates for virtual meetings with different constituencies and stakeholders.
