From 30 April to 8 May, the FACTI Panel conducted three consultations with subject matter experts on issues related to its three clusters, as part of the continuous efforts of the Panel to engage with interested stakeholders. More than 350 participants registered online for these meetings. The speakers participating in the open discussions included academics and researchers, representatives from governments and intergovernmental organizations, as well as representatives from civil society and the private sector.
In the first meeting, the Panel heard from experts on accountability, public reporting and anti-corruption measures. Interventions, among other topics, highlighted ending impunity, focusing on victims' rights, involving the private sector, and improving national cooperation. The summary and video are available.
In the second meeting, on improving cooperation in tax matters, there was much discussion about global governance and international tax norm setting. Other topics raised included international information sharing, data publication, capacity constraints, and addressing the impact of digitalization. The summary and video are available.
At the final session on cooperation and settling disputes, speakers shared in-depth views and experiences on asset recovery and return, money-laundering investigation, bribery investigation, and international mechanisms for anti-corruption prosecution. The summary and video are available.
